Mother’s Garden
Mother’s Garden is an ongoing still-life series that depicts vitality, growth, and tender care through the process of nutriment with every seed grown in soil. Hoffman’s earliest memories are walking alongside her mother in the garden during the summertime; witnessing her efforts of nourishing and maintaining every root she planted. To the gloomiest day or harshest climate, her sacrifice to her treasured garden generates a warm radiance allowing her creations to sprout into their bright auras.
Hoffman’s mother influenced her at a young age, one of the few who supported her from the start of her artistic career. Hoffman crafted these hyper-saturated scenes with the added sense of motion to represent her mother’s view of her botanical playground, emulating her influential power to those surrounding her. In the construction of this series, she carefully picked foliage from her childhood yard in appreciation of all the years of interaction, patience, and guidance. As botanical elements were one of her first subjects to capture, after nearly a decade of photographing, she crafted these images in the representation of the pure love of nature's beauty that she shares with her mother.
